Welcome to Heart Heist

Finally, a game where you're supposed to seduce the dragon!

This one-shot focused tabletop RPG challenges players to carefully balance cooperation and competition. Take on the role of a group of world-class thieves living the high life in the luxurious lair of your benevolent patron: a mighty dragon! In exchange for your endless pampering, your patron tasks you with stealing anything they wish to add to their hoard. Prepare for a heist that will require strategy, daring, and most importantly: teamwork.

But it's not just about stealing the target. It's about looking the hottest doing it!

Your partners in crime are also your rivals in romance. Puzzle out the dragon's dating preferences. Do your best to appeal to their tastes, while making your allies look second-rate in comparison. The other thieves have the pieces of your patron's preferences that you don't have. You'll need their help if you want to complete the heist... until you won't!

Intrigue, espionage, betrayal - anything to win your patron's affections!

But be careful! If the heist is a failure, everyone loses!

Everything you need to get started!

Aside from some friends, dice, pencils, and paper; this 44-page zine has everything you need to play your first game of Hearth Heist. Character creation can be completed in just a few minutes, and the only dice you'll need are the common six-sided variety.  A ready-to-play example heist, "The Princess in the Box," is also included so your group can jump into a game as fast as possible. This example heist focuses on the core gameplay of Heart Heist, and is a roughly 4½ hour experience (depending on group size).

Full resolution versions of the example heist maps, intel handouts with an extra-wide margin for taking notes, and a form-fillable character sheet are also available for download.

Easy Viewing & Printing

For digital reading, a regular single-page version and a two-page spread version are included to suit your preferred way to read, both with PDF bookmarks for easy navigation.

This zine is presented in grayscale for the cheapest printing possible. If you want to print your own physical copy, an Easy-Printing version is also included! All you have to do is print it double-sided (flip on the long edge) in portrait like you would a normal document, and the easy-print version is laid out to take care of the rest for you. Two staples are recommended for the 11 sheets of standard printer paper which will fold into the zine's 44 pages.

The maps for the included example heist, "The Princess in the Box," are designed to fit on two halves of a single standard 22” × 28” poster board, plus two pieces of 8.5" × 11" printer paper. This was done to make creating larger versions of them for use at the table as easy as possible.

Full Version In Development

In addition to tweaks based on feedback from this zine, the full version of Heart Heist will include a second example heist, alternative monstrous patrons for you to compete to date, and a more complete guide for Game Masters to create their own heists.
